Troubleshooting

The viewer won't start

  • Linux: "CPU ISA level is lower than required" or a glibc error. You need glibc 2.38+ and an x86-64-v2 CPU; see Installing.
  • No Vulkan device. Update your GPU driver. On Linux make sure the Vulkan driver package for your GPU is installed (vulkan-radeon / nvidia-utils etc.); vulkaninfo --summary should list your GPU.

Low frame rate

See Graphics & performance. The usual culprits are projector shadows in busy scenes, then shadow quality. If it's still slow, send a log with RenderVKGpuTimers turned on.

Audio sounds muffled or "like bad headphones"

That's 3D binaural (HRTF) processing. It is off by default; if you turned on AudioOpenALHRTF, turn it off again.

An avatar stays blurry

The viewer logs extra detail automatically when an avatar stays blurry for a minute. Include your Slipstream.log in a bug report.

The UI is the wrong size

Adjust Preferences → Advanced → UI size. On Linux, native Wayland gives the sharpest result; forcing X11 in a scaled Wayland session can make everything blurry.
