Outfit folders

If you have dozens (or hundreds) of saved outfits, one long list gets hard to use. Slipstream lets you sort My Outfits into folders, and folders inside folders, as deep as you like: for example "Casual", "Formal", "Roleplay → Medieval".

Open your outfits with Avatar → My outfits… (or right-click yourself → My Outfits…). Folders show up on both the MY OUTFITS and OUTFIT GALLERY tabs.

Making and managing folders

Use the gear (⚙) button at the bottom of the MY OUTFITS tab, or right-click a folder:

Command What it does
New folder… Makes a new folder. From a folder's right-click menu, the new folder goes inside that one.
Rename folder Renames the selected folder.
Delete folder Removes the folder. No outfits are deleted: everything inside moves up into the folder that contained it. You're asked to confirm first.
Save current outfit here… (Right-click a folder) saves what you're wearing as a new outfit in that folder.
Add to favorites / Remove from favorites (Right-click a folder) adds or removes it from your inventory favourites.

To move outfits and folders around, drag them onto another folder (or onto the top level). You can't drag a folder into itself.

Saving an outfit into a folder

When you save a new outfit (Save as… on the WEARING tab), the save window has an In folder: list. It starts on the folder you have open or selected; pick another one or My Outfits for the top level.

Sorting existing outfits automatically

If you already name your outfits with a prefix, like "Casual - Summer" and "Casual - Winter", Slipstream can sort them for you. Choose Group outfits into folders by prefix… from the gear menu.

  • "Casual - Summer" moves into a folder called "Casual" and is renamed "Summer".
  • The prefix is everything before " - " (space, dash, space).
  • Only prefixes that at least two outfits share are used, so a one-off outfit stays where it is.
  • You're shown how many outfits and folders will be affected before anything moves.

Finding outfits

The search box at the top searches outfit names in every folder, and shows which folder each match is in. While you're wearing an outfit, the folders that contain it are shown in bold, so you can find your way back to it.

In the OUTFIT GALLERY tab, folders are shown as tiles before the outfits. Click a folder to open it; the folder path across the top (starting at My Outfits) takes you back up. Click it to go back to a higher folder.

In other viewers

Outfit folders are ordinary inventory folders inside My Outfits, so your outfits are always safe and visible in your inventory in any viewer. Other viewers may not show outfits that are inside folders in their own outfit list.
