Area Search¶
Area Search lists the objects around you and finds them by name, owner, creator and more. Use it to find a lost item you rezzed, see who owns the things on your land, find everything for sale in a shop, or track down what's using up your land impact. It comes from Firestorm.
Open it with Build → Area Search.
List tab¶
The objects found, with these columns (choose which ones show on the Options tab):

| Name, Description | The object's name and description. |
| Price | What it costs, if it's for sale. |
| LI | Land impact: how much it counts against your parcel's limit. |
| Prims | How many prims it's made of. |
| Owner, Group, Creator, Last Owner | Who owns and made it, and the group it's set to. |
Click a column heading to sort, for example by LI to see what uses the most land impact. The counter at the bottom shows how many objects are Listed, how many are still Pending (their details are loading) and the Total. Refresh searches again. Show beacons marks the listed objects in the world with beacons, so you can see where they are.
Right-click objects in the list to:
- Zoom the camera to it, Teleport to it, Touch it or Sit on it.
- Inspect it, Edit it, Return it (if you're allowed), Delete it, or Buy object.
- Blacklist: removes it from your view for now (it can come back when you return to the area).
- Filter My Objects: show only your own objects. Select All and Clear Selection work on the list.
Find tab¶
Type into any of Name, Description, Owner, Group, Creator or Last owner and click Search. Parts of words match, so "chair" finds "Wooden Chair". Clear empties the boxes.
Use regular expression is for advanced pattern searches (for example ^Lamp for names starting
with "Lamp"). Leave it off for normal searching.
Filter tab¶
Narrow the list down, then click Apply:
- Only list objects that are: Locked, Physical, Phantom, Temporary, Attachment, Shared Media, with Copy / Modify / Transfer permission, Reflection Probes, or For Sale between two prices.
- Mouse click action: only objects that do a certain thing when clicked (Touch, Sit, Buy, Pay, Open, Play, Open Media, Zoom, or Any).
- Distance between two distances, and Current Parcel only.
- Exclude objects that are: Attachment, Physical, Temporary, Reflection Probes, Child Prim (parts of a linked object), or in Neighboring Regions.
Save as Default keeps your filter for next time.
Options and Advanced tabs¶
Options chooses which columns the list shows. Advanced sets what double-clicking an object in the list does: Double click touch object, Double click buy object or Double click sit on object.
Known limitations
Script Info in the right-click menu is always greyed out: it relies on a helper from Firestorm that Slipstream doesn't include.
