Inventory¶

Your inventory holds everything you own: clothes, objects, textures, landmarks, notecards and so on. Open it with Me → Inventory… or Ctrl+I.

The tabs¶

Tab	What it shows
MY INVENTORY	Everything.
RECENT	Items you received recently (since you last logged out, by default).
WORN	What you're wearing right now.
FAVORITES	Items and folders you've marked as favourites (right-click → Add to Favorites).

Finding things¶

Type in Enter search text at the top. The drop-down next to it chooses what to search: Name, Creator, Description or UUID.
The search visibility button chooses whether searches include outfit folders, the Trash, the Library and links.
Show Filters… (gear button) limits the list to certain kinds of items (Animation, Clothing, Objects, Textures and so on), items Created by me or by others, or items from a time window (Since Logoff, or newer/older than so many hours or days). Reset Filters clears them.

The line at the bottom shows how many items and folders you have, and says Fetching… while your inventory is still loading after login.

Views and sorting¶

The view button (next to the gear) has:

Sort by Name or Sort by Most Recent, Sort Folders Always by Name, Sort System Folders to Top.
List view (the classic tree), Gallery view (big thumbnails, one folder at a time) or Combination view (folders on top, thumbnails below).

The arrow buttons (Back, Forward, Go up one level) are for moving around in single-folder and gallery views. The button at the far right switches between views.

Command	What it does
New Inventory Window	Opens a second inventory window, handy for dragging between folders.
Collapse All Folders, Close All Windows	Tidy up.
Save Texture As	Saves the selected texture to your computer (if you have full permissions).
Share	Give the selected items to someone.
Find Original, Find All Links, Replace Links	For links (shortcuts to items): go to the real item, find every link to it, or point links at another item.
Empty Lost and Found, Empty Trash	Permanently delete what's in those folders.

The Create new item (+) button creates new folders, scripts, notecards, gestures, clothing and so on.

Inventory settings¶

Inventory settings… (gear menu) chooses how double-clicking works:

Option	Choices
Double-click on folder in multi-folder view	Expands & collapses folder, Opens a new window, or Switches view.
Double-click on folder in single-folder view	Stays in current window or Opens a new window.
Clicking on "Show in inventory" or "Find original"	Shows item in main inventory window or Opens a new single-folder window.
Favorites	Star on favorite items, Star on folders containing a favorite, and Colored text (pick the colour).
Pressing enter on an avatar attachment	Adds attachment (recommended), which keeps what's already on that point, or Wear (removes attachment at that point).
Double-click or enter on a clothing layer	Wear (replaces layers of that type), or Add (stacks with worn layers), so tattoos and other layers stack. Body parts (shape, skin, hair, eyes) always replace.

Outfits¶

Saved outfits live in the My Outfits folder. To manage them, use Avatar → My outfits…; see Outfit folders.
