Camera Recorder¶
The Camera Recorder records a path (where you walk and where the camera looks) and plays it back, for smooth, repeatable camera moves in videos and photo shoots. It comes from the Black Dragon viewer.
Open it with Me → Camera Recorder…, or add the Camera Recorder toolbar button.
Recording and playing back¶
- Click Record, then move around and move the camera. A waypoint is saved every tenth of a second. Recording replaces the current list. Click again to stop.
- Click Play to play it back. Your avatar follows the recorded path; tick Camera to have the camera follow its recorded positions too. Loop repeats the playback.
You can also build a path by hand: move the camera where you want it and click Waypoint to add a waypoint there.
Editing waypoints¶
The list shows each waypoint's position, rotation (Roll, Pitch, Yaw), view angle and time. Select a waypoint to edit it:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Position X / Y / Z, Roll / Pitch / Yaw sliders | Fine-tune the camera position and direction. |
| Field of view | The camera's view angle at that waypoint, for zooms. |
| Time | When, in seconds from the start, the waypoint is reached. Spacing waypoints further apart in time slows the move down. |
| Set Pos, Set Rot | Store the current camera position or direction in the selected waypoint. |
| Preview | Holds the camera at the selected waypoint while you edit it. |
| Delete | Removes the selected waypoints. |
| Copy | Copies the selected waypoints to the clipboard as a spreadsheet-style (CSV) list. |
Saving¶
Save applies your edits and saves the path. Load loads the saved path, and Refresh reloads it, throwing away unsaved edits. Slipstream keeps one saved path at a time.
